English language challenges.

The first: I don’t like this class be obligatory, I would like that the person that would to learn English can take the subject, the person who doesn’t want to learn the language, no.

The second: really I don’t like this class, because I believe that this subject don’t useful to my career; if the class would be focused to each as, how to children to learn English, to each the pronunciation of the some letters, to each how to read and write this words, when can we use this words, etc. I believe that this class I would interesting me more, but don’t is the case, this class are focused in others aspects of the language. I believe this class are focused to speak English with others persons, but I don't meet persons that speak this language and don't interesting me to visit any country where speak this language, this is the one of reason because I don't interesting me to learn this language, because I don’t believe that I will use it in others moments of my life.

 I believe this class is good, (to who want learn the language); write blog helped me enough, to increase my vocabulary and writing, I believe that is important, to others persons, to learn other language, above everything English, but not to me. Besides really I don’t like this language because I very difficult to me.

There are many aspects of my English that I need to improved, like my pronunciation and  my writing and to learn more vocabulary, maybe to improved that, I will started to read a beautiful book in English, that to give me once:  The little prince.

Outsides the English class, really I don’t believe that I will use this language.  Maybe this language could be used, to translate some investigation about education, but no more.

Future job

Hi, today I’m going to talk about my future job.

Well… I study education, because I think through education we can change the world, and I think that the university has given me many educational tools, to become a good professional, a god teacher. I believe the best what university has given me has been, it’s show me the importance to know the sociocultural context of the child, the importance of the significative learning. That the teacher is the class, is not the only person in possession in the absolute truth.  Besides the mathematics class I liked so much, because I would like to be a mathematics teacher. I learned to make many funny activities to make with the child. I love mathematics!!!

But the university doesn’t given me all that I need, like I was think would to do it. For this reason before graduate me, I would like take some courses about other educational methods, in other institutions.

When I finish my studies at university, I would like take a continuing education course of primary education, but I think the first that I will do, is comeback home in Doñihue, to can to work there.

About my future job I hope can work in a little school near my home, this school is near to the hills, the landscape to work there is so beautiful, and I hope to be the best teacher to the children and what all that I teach their, seem their necessary and useful to their life.

I believe a one of my weaknesses is that I am a little insecure about my knowledge in some subjects.

My principal strengths is that I love that I studied, I know that I can make a good class according the child needs.

Doñihue

Well… today I’m going to talk about the town where I am from: Doñihue. This town is located 23 km near the city Rancagua in the sixth region. This place is surrounded of hills; its name Doñihue means: lugar de cerros, It’s a very quiet place. This town is small, and there connect the urban and rural landscape. Doñihue is famous for its Chamantos weaving loom, and for Chacolì  a typical drink of there. Each year between June and July for 3 days is celebrated in Doñihue La Fiesta del Cacholi, where is commemorate the year when was found the town.  It sells handicrafts typical of the town, food and some drinks  like Chacoli, Pihuelo and Navegado. Besides in the gym of the town to make a show with many guest artists. There are some children games too. I like to go this celebration because I can to see my friends and play taca-taca with their.

But that I like more of Doñihue is the celebration of  The summer nights of Doñihue, each year, in the last week of January in the Stadium of Doñihue it’s celebrate this party, each night there are many guest artists, like singer, comic and dancer of the TV.  Sell crafts, food, drink and games. It make a competition of the song, who wins the competition receive $500.000, any person can participate. I believe that the best of this celebration are the guest comics. Every night it’s free, except the last night.

I like to live there, I like the landscape, the people  and the celebrations, there,  are my family and my friends, I couldn’t change my town for any place of the world.

How green I am

Well… really I’m not very green, sometimes I try to be it,  but is difficult to me, because hardly every products, that I consume are very contaminant to the planet.

That I do it, to be a green person, and try to contaminate less,  is to recycle the tetra packs box, and when I have to print some works to the university, I did it at the back of the sheets that I have been used.

I have been use many box of the cereal, matchbox, cylinders of toilet paper, to make many teaching material: like puzzle, geometric shapes, to representation of numbers, letters, etc. With the caps of the bottle, to make the child can sort, classify too. And this way I can show them what all we can to do with these materials.

 Besides when I’m at the school I try to teach to the child to don’t throw trash to the street.

When I’m in my home I try the turn off the light that when we don’t use it, and turn off the television because usually is switch on.

But that I’m really important to me, is protect the WATER, I always turn off the water tap and when I was brushing my teeth. I try to take short shower, and use again the water when still is clean.

When is the hour's planet I turn off the light for the hour.

Music

In my free time I like listen to music, and the music that I like to listen is reggaeton, some cumbias and romantic music in general. But I don’t listen to music alone, I listen to music with my roommate, and the music that we listen it depends of our  state of mind: when we are happy  we listen cumbias and sometimes reggaeton, I prefer to listen reggaeton, she prefer  to listen cumbias, and when we feel sad, we listen romantic music.

 We share the same tastes of music, is fantastic, her favorite singer is Adele, and I like Adele too, we like the lyrics of all her song, my favorite song of Adele is make you feel my love. My favorite group is Camila,  I love all their lyrics songs.

Sometimes we listen only her music, and in the other ocations we listen that I like me. Sometimes she plays a song, and then, the next song it play me. We don’t have a radio, so that, we listen to music from our laptops.

In general we listen to music every day, between the 9 and 11 of the night. The music that more we taste is the romantic music, besides to listen, sometimes we sing the song.

Every day when I go to take a shower wear with me, my telephone to listen to music there; there I listen the radio of the telephone. To listen the music relax me, I think is the best.

Pets

In this ocation I’m giong to write about  my pets.

Well I don’t relly like much the animals, but in my home now there is a cat,  is called niña. Is in our home since approximately  five years ago, belong to my mom, is the color gray whit black. Is  a cat very big, is like if be fat. Before we had many cat but always lost their.

Once time we had, with a ex boyfriend, a rabbit, it was called CAMILO, it was so beatiful, we bought in one market when it was very little. It was are so little that it had fit in one cage to birds. Since we bougth we had to go every day to market to go fetch some leaf of lettuce and some carrot.  After of one month  we had to change of a him cage because it don’t wonted fit , it had grown a lot. We had to make it a new cage, with more space to run and to jump. In some acations we had to carry to the bed to sleep. 

Well…the relationship is over and never more saw the rabbit because I could’t have it in my home because my cat could kill it, besides in my home there aren’t enough space.

The best holidays.

I think that the best holidays of my life had been the last national festivities. I could go to my home for one week, I missed my family.

For three days I went to the home of my cousin in San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, with  my cousins went to the Fondas. We went in one fonda called La Terremoto, where  there was good music of the years 70’,  80’ and ’90, there was Karaoke too. The prize to who song, was one terremoto of 750 cc.

 I had a really good time, I song,  and I  laughed so much of the people drunk. I met many people very nice, friends of my cousins. I met one boy very very funny, he was so drunk and he told me he was the better in all that he did. He was very egocentric. If he didn`t be drunk I believe that I punched.

 

I drinked one Terremoto, and eat many choripan.

The others days I was in my home in Doñihue, sharing with my family and muy best friend. In Doñihue I could’t went to the Fondas because all the people told me that it was so boring.

the country I'd like to visit

In this ocation I'll write about the country that I would like to visit: ITALY. 

The first reason is because I think this culture has made a big contribution to the world history in subjects like: arts, religion, politic, especially in laws.

I would like to meet the roman Colosseum,  to meet Venecia and to eat the truth Italian pizza too. To walk toward  to one fountain and make a wish.

I would like to meet this country too, because is the place where was born Maria Montessori and her innovative educational methodology.  This methodology interest me, because is a one methodology that have like center the child and the work focused on the interests and needs of each children. and the teaching school materials are wonderful.

 I would like to visit Italy, to meet, to study and to learn  more about this methodology.

The principal reason to visit this country, to me, is to visit the opera Montessori. If I had enough money I would travel to Italy right now.

First term: the good and bad

My name is Paulina  I’m 21 years old, I’m studying Education I’m in the fourth  year, and I  like so much that I’m studying because I believe  that   through education we can change the world.

I’m  from Doñihue , it is a pleasant and beautiful place. I like listen to music and go to walk to the hill after had rained.

I think that the good happened the last term was that I approved all subjects and there aren’t protests. I had the best subject of the world: MATH with the best teachers: Jorge and Gina. I liked so much, (I would like be math teacher), I learned many activities to do with the children at the school, I learned how to work with the Japanese, Chinese and the Korean abacus, and how to work with the binary system. I make my practice in the good school, where I learned so much of all children… and I don’t remember anything bad of the last semester.

Well… really I must admit that I find it hard so much to learn English and that I hate having to get up early in the morning to go at the university to write a blog, I had fun so much writing the blog. En lo personal I hate de English, but to write in English about what oneself like it or interesting, quite very significant, although sometimes had topics that I didn’t interesting to me, but the same way had to write some (and I was the people that had fighting whit the topics) but helped to me to learn more words in English.

I would like that the post have been feedback from the teacher to can see what was bad o what was good write, because sometimes  the translations made was literals and maybe not necessarily express what I want to say.

One the advantage of the blog is that we allows development of writing and feely expression about of the topics that we interest and also was funny.

The disadvantage how I said before is that I didn’t receive feedback and I didn’t know what was bad or good, other disadvantage to me was I didn’t like to write the others class mate because I didn’t know them and I feel embarrassed to write them with out to know them, but seeing it otherwise it could be a advantage to know more we as classmate.

I would like to thank Alvaro for all the patience you had with me, and for stand me for second time in your English class, because I never shut up and I really I don’t know how stand me.

Alvaro you made that the English class was more fun, you are very nice and again thank you so much for stand me. You are the best teacher ( although I still don't like English).

Books

My favorite book is Cien años de Soledad writes by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, a Colombian writer.  He had write many books like Relatos de un naufrago, Crónicas de una muerte  anunciada, El coronel no tiene quien le escriba in others. (I have read most of his books)

 Really I don´t chose the book, I read the book because tell me in the high school. At the first I didn’t like it because I couldn’t understand it; I confounded the character of the story because almost all they have the same name, but when I continued read I love it!!

I don’t remember if I bought it in the street, or if lend it me and I never give back to the person. I never give back the books that lend me; least if is a book of Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

This novel belongs to the literary genre magical realism. A mixture of reality of the everyday world and a little magic. Cien años de Soledad is a novel about a man called Jose Arcadio Buendía, her wife Ursula Iguarán and all their family.

Is a story very interesting and very entertaining. Tells the story about how Jose y Ursula founded the town of Macondo, how their familily grew and how with the time eventually disappeared without leaving any descendant.  

In general I like all the books that the autor had write, but I like more Cien años de soledad , because was the first book that I read and I loved it the story and especially the character Melquíades, the gypsy, how was all the novelties of the world to the region, novelties like flying carpets, crystal balls, etc.

The photograph I like the most

This picture I like because in it there shown who were my best friends, when I was in the high school in 4^th grade. They were very special for me because with then I did all my homework, we met at the breaks, we met in our homes, we went for a walk,  we went to the mall to eat, for a ice cream, and though sometimes we discussed, and we don’t talked for a time always came back to be friends.

This picture shows to Gabriela and Ernesto, with them, we joked all the day, we laughed at everybody, even teachers and their way of being, we laughed at our classmate too, we said jokes about all the people, even from ourselves. I had a good time in the school with them I, felt that the class day was shorter. They made that the class were more entertaining.

This picture I like because I make me reminds the good times we lived in the high school, with them I really enjoyed, they were with me when I most needed it, them supported me, give me advice, and made me laugh, they laughed at me and I at them, we had a very good. We were the best friends of the world.

Currently  we aren’t friends, because  we went to university and  now we don’t see, sometimes  we meet with Ernesto on the bus and with Gabriela we speak by msn o facebook.

This picture was taken in the classroom, the last day of class in the high school, in November 2008, this day we took many pictures, this picture was took by a classmate.

I think the best day of my life was the day when I saw the marks of PSU in internet, was near Christmas in 2008. I was very nervous I didn’t know my score and I was afraid to take less than 600 points. Were 00:00 hrs and the page doesn’t load, had collapsed!!!, I couldn’t see my score.

When I can see the page, and I saw my score, I couldn’t believe it !!! I reached more than 600 points I could apply to the university that I wanted, but there was another problem, but that doesn’t mean that I could stay in the university. I apply to the university and I had to wait again the results. Again I was very nervous I felt it was the worst thing if I couldn’t stay in the university.

I know the results days before my birthday, I can’t believe it !!! I had been selected to enter at the university, I was very very happy!!!; really I don’t believe that I can do it.

My family can’t believe, they told me that I don’t could enter at the university; also they told me that there wasn’t money to found the university. I was very sad because I don’t know what to do, I had to pass the tests, I had to stay at the university but in my home everyone told me that I couldn’t to go at the university because it was very expensive. But I have credit and I could go to study. I was very happy!!!

My favourite piece of technology.

 My favourite piece of technology is my laptop. The first laptop was created in 1981 Epson HX-20.  The laptop is a portable computer, that don’t weigh much (between 1 kg- 3 kg), and is very easy to carry.

I have my laptop since 2009 when I arrive at the university. I use it every day when I arrive home after the university and when I’m bored and I don’t anything else to do. I like because in my laptop y can listen to music, to watch movies, watch videos, search information, do my homework, store information, and that I like so much is that I can chat whit my friends, I can use wherever, is very easy carry it, don’t need much space and don’t need connected to electricity because it have a battery that about 3 hours.

I don’t like about the laptop is, that without Internet I can’t do so much, because in internet is all the information, is very necessary have internet to be connected.

My life without it, would so different, because whit my laptop I can be connected, and I can do my homework on line with my classmate, without having to leave home, and I can download books, without having to go to the library.

I'd like to visit...

The country I would like to visit is Egypt, because I consider that it is the more beautiful and important civilization that has been in all the times. (If I could go there I’d go alone).

I would like to visit this country because I love history of their culture, interesting me to know more about the discoveries that the Egyptians made in the areas like: mathematics, astronomy and human anatomy; the accuracy with predicted the equinoxes and solstices, the lunar cycles and the hidden secrets of the pyramids, it’s position with respect to the sun and the perfect la alignment between the pyramids and the some stars (the brightest).

I would like to know how without the technology they could come to find so much for their time were very advanced; and I would like to know more about their religious beliefs, the importance of their gods, and the meanings what had for them, the life and the death (understood like another life).

Now, I don’t like to live there; I’d had been in this country when that culture was at its best time.

I think that this culture is really amazing and deserves to be remember FOREVER !!!

The music that I like.

When I’m sad, I usually listen to romantic music, because make me remember a person very important in my life, who is not already with me because doesn’t care about me. I like a group called Camila. This is a Mexican group composed by three members, I like it because with all their songs I fell identify. The letter of all it songs are so good. My favorite song is called “Mientes” I like this song because there is a person that always lies to me and make me fell so sad, because and  always believe it all he says me..

Other singer that I like is Katty Perry; their songs are so good when I’m happy I listen it.

When I’m in my home, with my grandfather all the Saturdays we listen to rancheras, because he like it so much and I like me too.  Is radial program is called “Las rancheras  de  oro” in the radio Doñihue.

I like so much listen to music, but it’s a long time since I don’t  listen music because in my laptop I don’t have new music, and here in Santiago I don’t have  a radio or mp3.

I admire

The person that I admire is called Monica Manhey she is the best nursery teacher that y know. She is a teacher of area education in Universidad de Chile. She makes the subject construction of environment learning. She is the best teacher that we have had.

Her lessons are very entertain and interesting, she knows very much about area of education and children’s.

She is a very important people of area education level national like international. She is assistant director of international institute of children education belonging to Universidad Central de Chile and work to UNESCO.

She makes many investigations and many publications like: Poesías para Párvulos JUNJI, 1994. El Juego de Rincones” JUNJI 2001 Cuentos, Narraciones y Leyendas para Párvulos”. JUNJI 2002, etc.

She we inform about the last studios in education, the news methodologies of education and the new education policies,  in the country and in the abroad, the last discovery in the area of neurosciences, and their importance in the learning of the child.

Moreover she had a big knowledge about the curriculum of education in the first infancy.

With her I’ve learn so much about the education in the first infancy.   

The last movie I saw

The last movie I saw was Eclipse; it is the third part of the saga Twilight. It is a story of love between a human called Bella Swan and a vampire called Edward Cullen. The story begins when Bella moves to the city Forks where live Edward and his family live, and she falls in love with Edward and the problems start.

In Eclipse Bella is confused between her love for Edward and Jacob, a friend of her infancy, and she makes the decision of becoming a vampire like her loved Edward.

My name is Paulina Medina  I’m 20 years old, I’m studying Nursery Education in the third  year, I  love what I’m studying because I like so much the children and I believe  that   through education we can change the world.

I  like watching football  with my grand father,  we support Colo Colo.  I like listen to music too.
